01/28/2026Order/ProceduralFiled Order Regarding Motions. Petitioners have moved for an order directing the district court to transmit the JAVS audio-visual recordings from the underlying trial in Case No. C-24-387035-1. The order is granted with respect to the JAVS recording of all proceedings on January 21, 2026. NRAP 30(d). Thus, the district court clerk shall immediately transmit to this court the January 21, 2026, JAVS recording(s). The motion is denied, without prejudice, with respect to the JAVS recordings from the other trial dates, as it is not clear from what is before this court that they are at issue. Petitioners have also moved for leave to file redacted and sealed versions of appendix volumes I and II. The motion is provisionally granted, SRCR 2 3(4)(h), subject to further review and decision by this court. Petitioners represent that they have mailed or otherwise delivered the unredacted volumes on January 27, 2026. The clerk of this court shall file, under seal, the unredacted versions of appendix volumes I and II once they are received. Finally, the Nevada Press Association, the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada Foundation, Inc., the Center for American Liberty, and the First Amendment Lawyers Association have moved for leave to file a joint brief as amici curiae. Having reviewed the motion and proposed brief, the motion is granted. Thus, despite a deficiency on the cover page concerning room for the file stamp, see NRAP 32(a)(2), the proposed amici curiae brief, provisionally filed on January 27, 2026, is accepted. (SC)26-04185
