On September 12, 2016, we entered an order removing Jacqueline McQuigg as counsel of record for California Back Specialists Medical Group, Inc., California Minimally Invasive Surgery Center, Conejo Neurological Medical Group, Inc., Medical Imaging Medical Group, and Thousand Oaks Spine Medical Group, Inc. (the Chiu Entities). We directed the Chiu Entities to retain new counsel and cause counsel to file a notice of appearance in this court by October 12, 2016. To date, no notice of appearance of counsel has been filed on behalf of the Chiu Entities. Accordingly, we presume that the Chiu Entities will be proceeding without counsel. The Chiu Entities will not be permitted to file documents in this appeal.16-33987

In response to this court's order to show cause, which questioned whether the notices of appeal were prematurely filed, respondent/cross-appellant notes that the district court was scheduled to hear the motion to amend the judgment on October 11, 2016, and states that resolution of the motion may eliminate the need for the appeals.
