09/16/2024MotionFiled Proper Person Motion for Expedited Stay. (COA). (TRANSFERRED FROM THE SUPREME COURT PER 09/16/24)24-34146
09/17/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Imposing Temporary Stay and Directing Response. Appellant has filed a motion for stay, pending appeal, of the decree, which requires the payment of spousal support. Having reviewed the motion, we conclude that a response would assist in this court's resolution of the motion. Accordingly, respondent shall have 14 days from the date of this order to file and serve a response to the stay motion. Appellant shall have 7 days from when the response is served to file and serve any reply. We temporarily stay the portion of the decree requiring appellant to pay spousal support, pending our receipt and consideration of respondent's response. Accordingly, respondent shall not take any action to enforce the spousal support provision until further order of this court. (COA)24-34194

09/27/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Stay. Currently before this court is appellant's motion for stay. Therein, appellant seeks a stay of that portion of the decree requiring appellant to pay respondent spousal support. Respondent opposes the motion. Having considered the relevant factors, we deny the motion. NRAP 8(c). We also lift the temporary stay entered by this court on September 17, 2024. (COA)24-36052

12/10/2024MotionFiled Proper Person Motion for an Order to Enforce and or for an Order to Show Cause Regarding Contempt (COA)24-47175
12/11/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Motion. This is an appeal from an amended district court divorce decree. Pro se respondent has filed a "Motion for an Order to Enforce and/or for an Order to Show Cause Regarding Contempt" asserting that appellant has not paid spousal support for November or December 2024. These issues are not properly part of this appeal as they occurred after the appeal was filed. Therefore, such relief must be sought in the district court in the first instance. Accordingly, we deny the motion. (COA)24-47413
12/11/2024MotionFiled Proper Person(Bryce White) Motion for Stay Form for Parties Without Attorneys(COA)24-47430
12/12/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Stay. This is an appeal from an amended district court divorce decree. Currently before this court is pro se appellant's second motion for stay. We deny appellant's second motion for stay. (COA)24-47780

01/07/2025Notice of Appeal DocumentsFiled District Court Docket Entries (COA).25-00768
01/08/2025Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Motion. Pro se respondent has filed a second "Motion for an Order to Enforce and/or for an Order to Show Cause Regarding Contempt" asserting that appellant has not paid the spousal support ordered by the district court for November 2024 through January 2025. Again, these issues occurred after the appeal was filed and are not properly before this court. We therefore deny any relief requested. To the extent the district court contends it does not have jurisdiction to consider respondent's request due to this appeal, we note that district courts retain jurisdiction to enforce their orders, and consider contempt motions related to those orders, that are pending appeal, so long as no stay has been entered. This court has not entered a stay and it does not appear that the district court has either. COA-BB/MG/DW (COA)25-00993
