01/05/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Motions. Appellant, proceeding pro se, has filed a motion to transmit "all pivotal exhibits" from the district court. Appellant states that there were over 160 exhibits admitted in the underlying district court case. Appellant fails to identify with particularity which exhibits he wishes to have transmitted. Additionally, appellant fails to explain why the exhibits are incapable of being reproduced in an appendix, if appellant was permitted to file an appendix. Accordingly, the motion is denied without prejudice to appellant's ability to file a motion to transmit any original exhibits under NRAP 30(d), and/or to file a motion seeking leave to file an appendix containing copies of specific exhibits accompanied by a proposed appendix of exhibits. Proposed amici curiae Oscar Williams, Janice Hermsen, Lena Alexander, and David Chamberlain have filed a pro se motion for leave to file a brief of amicus curiae in support of appellant. The motion is only signed by Williams who, as a non-attorney, may not pursue this relief on behalf of the others. Accordingly, the motion is denied without prejudice. The clerk of this court shall return, unfiled, the proposed amicus brief and accompanying appendix received on December 19, 2023. (SC)24-00503

01/26/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Regarding Motions. Proposed amici curiae Oscar Williams, Janice Hermsen, Olena Alexander, and David Chamberlain proceeding pro se have filed a motion for leave to file an amicus brief. The unopposed motion is granted. The clerk shall file the amicus brief received on January 12, 2024. The clerk shall return, unfiled, the appendix to the amicus brief received on January 12, 2024. Appellant's motion to transfer exhibits is denied without prejudice. The clerk of this court shall return, unfiled, the exhibits to motion to transfer exhibits received on January 12, 2024. It appears that the exhibits appellant seeks to have transferred to this court were already transmitted to this court and filed with the record on appeal on January 5, 2024. After inspecting these documents, if appellant determines that a renewed motion to transmit exhibits is necessary, he may file one at that time. Appellant's motion to expedite the ruling in this appeal is granted to the following extent. This court will expedite its decision in this matter to the extent that this court's docket will permit. (SC)24-03126

03/08/2024Order/ProceduralFiled Order Denying Motion to Further Expedite Resolution. On March 5, 2024, appellant filed a letter, which this court construes as a motion, again pointing to the upcoming primary election and other related deadlines and seeking a decision "within the coming week." Having reviewed the motion, it is denied. As previously stated, this court will expedite this matter to the extent its docket allows. (SC)24-08433
